Luanda – Team Eswatini secured three medals in taekwondo poomsae events on Tuesday at the ANOCA Youth Games in Luanda, signalling a strong start for the country’s campaign.
Siphowokuhle Ndlela claimed silver in the female individual poomsae after finishing second to Algeria, while Angola took bronze. Ndlela teamed up with Kwazile Mkoko to win another silver in the mixed pair category. Bongmusa Mkhatshwa added a bronze in the male individual poomsae after a disciplined performance against tough continental competition.
Other Eswatini athletes achieved fourth and fifth place finishes in highly competitive fields, showing the growing depth of the nation’s youth taekwondo programme. The team will continue competing in both poomsae and kyorugi events in Luanda.
