Mbabane: Ex-Lamgabhi MP and Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ntuthuko Dlamini, has condemned what he called lack of integrity on the part of parliamentarians. The ex-MP turned businessman said how aspiring MPs campaign nowadays is far from how MPs of yesteryears lobbied for seats in the August House. Dlamini said this without noting the recent bribery allegations which rocked parliament in the race to replace the late senator Mike Temple.

“The system has been degraded to unacceptable levels,” said the ex-MP, adding that MPs have reduced parliament to very low standards. He said as ex-parliamentarians should often wonder what has become of the August House as more than anything it is run like a circus.

The former LaMgabhi Member of Parliament (MP), was appointed Minister of Public Works and Transport during then Prime Minister Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini’s time, rising to become a stable businessman outside of politics.

He was one of the most vocal legislators in the August House after being elected LaMgabhi MP during the 1993 to 1998 parliamentary that was followed by another stint 1998 – 2003 term. He did not make it during the 2003 – 2008 term only to bounce back in the 2008 – 2013 terms, which is when he became a minister.
