Mbabane – South African Amapiano producer Kabza De Small has teamed up with Eswatini artist Ayacity on a new collaboration that is drawing strong interest across the region. The project connects one of South Africa’s leading Amapiano figures with a fast rising Swazi musician whose work blends Afropop and Amapiano.
Ayacity told the Independent News that the partnership has been years in the making, explaining that their professional relationship began in 2017 and continued to grow. “We’ve been in touch for a long time,” Ayacity said. “The collaboration came naturally because we’ve always admired each other’s work and energy.”
He also confirmed that he initiated the idea. “It was me. I reached out to Kabza because I’ve always believed that our styles could blend beautifully. Working with someone of his caliber is an incredible opportunity for growth not just for me, but for Eswatini’s music industry as a whole.”
The artist described the project as a moment of cultural exchange. “This is more than just a song,” Ayacity said. “It’s about connecting our sounds and showcasing the talent that Eswatini has to offer. I believe this project will open doors for other Swazi artists too.”
Fans hoping for a release date will have to wait a little longer. Ayacity said that final logistics are still underway. “I can’t specify dates yet, but very soon,” he said. “I’m heading to South Africa this coming Saturday to finalize everything. Once all is in place, we’ll make an official announcement.”
He added that working with major artists requires patience and focus. “Working with Kabza is huge, but it’s not just about that,” he said. “You have to stay consistent, grounded, and focused. Success depends on how much effort you put in and the connections you build along the way.”
