Mbabane – Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo has reaffirmed Eswatini’s commitment to strengthening trade and investment ties with Taiwan, describing the partnership as a cornerstone of the kingdom’s industrial growth.
Speaking at the Taiwan–Eswatini Business Seminar this morning, Khumalo praised the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for its continued support in advancing Eswatini’s economic agenda. He singled out the upcoming Taiwan Innovation and Business Park in Phocweni as a major step toward turning Eswatini into a regional manufacturing hub.
“The park will boost our industrial capacity and drive technology transfer and job creation,” said Khumalo, adding that it represents the kind of cooperation that delivers tangible results for both nations.
Khumalo went on to outline key sectors earmarked for collaboration, including agriculture and agro-processing, technology and innovation, manufacturing, and tourism. He also urged investors to make use of Eswatini’s business-friendly reforms such as the Permanent Residence by Investment programme, the Business One Stop Shop, and ongoing trade policy improvements designed to create a globally competitive environment.

The minister thanked the Taiwan Embassy and the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) for organising the seminar, saying it provided an important platform for dialogue and partnership. He noted that sustained cooperation between the two countries continues to open doors for investment, innovation, and shared prosperity.
