LONDON – Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz powered his way into the Wimbledon semi-finals on Wednesday after sweeping aside British hopeful Cameron Norrie in straight sets.
The defending champion took just 1 hour and 39 minutes to wrap up a 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 victory on Centre Court, delivering a performance that left little room for doubt. His mix of agility, court coverage, and seamless attacking transitions overwhelmed Norrie, who struggled to gain any foothold during the match.
Alcaraz, who now prepares to face Tylor Fritz in the last four, never looked rattled. While Norrie battled hard in front of a home crowd, the 28-year-old could not keep pace with the world number three’s consistent shotmaking and foot speed.
Norrie, though outclassed on the day, is enjoying a promising return to form. His recent rise from 91st to a projected 43rd in the ATP rankings follows a solid French Open and a confident run at the All England Club.
The British number one is set to carry that form into the upcoming US hard-court season.
