MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders Football Club issued a public statement calling for an end to speculation and urging calm over the charges of one of its players, Thando Dube.
“In light of this situation, we would like to urge everyone to maintain calm and refrain from speculation,” the statement reads in part.
Mbabane Highlanders further said that they would like to see the judicial processes continue unhindered.
Dube (24) was on Monday charged by the Manzini Magistrate Sihle Dludlu with the murder of Nkosikhona Gcina Fakudze who died after being stabbed with a sharp object which occurred on Saturday at KaBen. He has been remanded in custody until June 25.
“As Mbabane Highlanders we would like to confirm that our player, Thando Dube, was involved in an unfortunate incident on Saturday that tragically resulted in a loss of life,” Mbabane Highlanders said.
Extending condolences to the family of the deceased, Mbabane Highlanders, said they have them in their prayers in these difficult times.
“This is a profoundly difficult time for everyone involved, and we once again wish strength and comfort to those affected,” the statement reads.
