Mbabane: Desperate times calls for desperate measures!
This describes what is has hit the local health system as the Clinic Group has announced to start rationing of oxygen to patients who needs the oxygen support.
In a notice issued by the private health facility to its doctors and nurses on Saturday, January 02, 2021 it mentioned that due to the current nationwide shortage of Oxygen, the facility had to start rationing hospitalized patients with immediate effect.
The notice further mentioned that all patients will now be rationed to a maximum flow of 10 lt/min.
On December 30, 2020 the clinic group encouraged people to come to the hospital only if they needed medical attention as COVID-19 testing would be reserved for only symptomatic people only. The group discouraged people with no symptoms to come to the hospital as they will expose themselves unnecessarily and overwhelm the facility’s service capacity.
