Mbabane: Eswatini top lawyer Lindifa Mamba has passed on due to alleged COVID-19 related complications.

Mamba was a well-known lawyer who was also a member of the Law Society of Swaziland (LSS).

When sought for comment, the LSS President Lucky Howe, in a hoarse voice asked not to give any comment as they were still in shock about the demise of Mamba. Howe said they were still engaging the Mamba family regarding the lawyer’s passing on.

Meanwhile, the Law Society of Swaziland through its official Facebook page passed heartfelt condolences to Mamba’s wife and family.

“Rest in peace Mr Mamba. Thank you for your distinguished contribution to the public life and the legal fraternity. A very respectable SC and very popular among his legal colleagues and peers. May God comforts his wife and family, Gone too soon. A widely admired role model for many lawyers,” reads the Facebook post.

When reached for comment Attorney Sidumo Mdlandla sadly said he is not in position to make any comment as he was not a member of the LSS. Mdlandla added he was currently not in a good space to say anything about Mamba’s demise as Mamba was more of a brother to him and his (Mamba)’s death took a strain on him. Mdlandla said Mamba’s death was something else to him and judging from his hoarse voice during the telephone call, Mdlandla was deeply hurt.

Mamba clan’s Indvuna Mthala Matsebula who is also the spokesperson for the Mamba clan at Ngudzeni said they were still in shock by the death of the Lawyer. Matsebula said what hurt the most is that Mamba was the now the only remaining son to his 83 year old father. Matsebula said this hurt the most because Mamba’s father was currently not well and breaking this news would be the hardest thing ever.

Matsebula said another thorn in the flesh was that the late Mamba lost his mother just last year, while in the past few weeks they buried another Mamba’s relative. Matsebula disclosed that currently there was still another Mamba relative who was still yet to be buried and now it is Lindifa.

He further disclosed that this is shocking because Mamba was just about to finish constructing his house at Ngudzeni. He said the house had just been lighted up but then now Mamba was gone.
