Mbabane- A car dealership company, Autofin Ford donated food parcels to 25 vulnerable families identified through the Asibambaneni Sibengumndeni Programme.
The donation fulfils a commitment made by the local motor dealership during the launch of the programme’s second season, reinforcing private-sector support for government initiatives aimed at assisting vulnerable households.
Presenting the donation, Autofin Ford Eswatini Business Development Executive Nicholus Maziya commended the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for its efforts to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged citizens.
“Our intention is to help the DPM’ s office cover shame,” he noted. Acknowledgung the DPM, Honourable Thulisile Dladla, Maziya said the work being done by the DPM to EmaSwati is felt on the ground.
Maziya also praised the office for assisting vulnerable people through the provision of basic necessities, including decent shelter, food and clothing.
He also pledged the office’s continued support for vulnerable families through its newly established corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Maziya expressed hope that the assistance would help beneficiaries work towards self-reliance, adding that he hoped they would one day become customers of the company.
Receiving the donation, Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla assured the company that the food parcels would reach deserving families identified through the programme who were in urgent need of assistance.
Dladla highlighted the programme’s achievements, reporting that it had facilitated the reunification of 32 families, provided decent shelter to four families and assisted 24 children to return to school with uniforms.
Through this programme, we have helped several individuals obtain national identity documents, enabling them to access essential services that require official identification,” she highlighted.
Asibambaneni Sibengumndeni focuses on strengthening families, promoting gender equality, protecting children and improving social welfare. The programme is logistically funded by the Republic of China (Taiwan) and broadcast on Eswatini TV and the Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS) platforms to encourage public awareness and engagement.
Dladla called on members of the public to continue supporting Autofin Ford Eswatini, saying such support could enable the company to extend similar assistance to more vulnerable families.
On another note, Dladla also urged households to prepare for the anticipated El Niño season by preserving food and managing available resources carefully, warning that the weather phenomenon could affect food security.
