Mbabane – Mashumi Shongwe has resigned from the Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration Commission (CMAC) Governing Board, with his resignation taking effect yesterday.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security announced that Labour and Social Security Minister Phila Buthelezi had accepted Shongwe’s resignation as a member of the board with effect from July 29, 2026.
Shongwe occupied a board seat nominated by the Federation of Eswatini Trade Unions (FESWATU).
The ministry said FESWATU had committed to submitting a nominee to fill the vacancy in line with the applicable procedures.
The appointment of Shongwe’s replacement will be communicated once the process has been completed.
The ministry thanked Shongwe for his service and contribution to the work of CMAC during his tenure and wished him well in his professional responsibilities.
CMAC is responsible for assisting parties to resolve labour disputes through conciliation, mediation and arbitration.
