Pigg’s Peak: Elite league side Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows have announced an experienced and powered Management Committee (MC) led by legal eagle Vusi Thomo.

Team Chairman Charles Matsebula announced the appointments on Sunday which saw Lington Gule return to the Malandalahle-based ensemble as Public Relations Officer. Gule, a seasoned journalist held the same position in the team back in 2012 before heading for greener pastures at giants Mbabane Highlanders and later Manzini Wanderers.

Thomo, now magistrate at Pigg’s Peak is a former Head of Legal and Human Resource at Wanderers.

Also making it to the management is former Sihlangu defender Siyabonga ‘Msholozi’ Mdluli who is the Technical Director.

“We are very pleased announce our official MC for the 2020/21 season. We are honoured to have such high profile and honourable people in our MC,” said team Chairman Matsebula.

He continued that since he has been elected into the PLE Executive, “We thought, we should also improve our MC.”

“Further we felt, it was now time to appoint a fully functional Management Committee which will run the club professionally. We pray and plead with all our stakeholders to welcome our MC and to further give them the respect and cooperation they deserve while doing their duties.

“It is now time to operate in a corporate way. We are now swimming with the sharks, therefore we cannot be complaining when we get eaten. So instead, we must adapt and learn ways of how to survive and be able to compete.

I am delegating some powers and responsibilities to this MC which made me to think hard on whom will be the captain of the ship. In Piggs Peak we have a lot of honourable and high profile people so it was not hard to identify the candidates. However, what is more difficult was to make a system that will not compromise our members from their professional duties and the work of the club,” he added.

General Manager Shongwe is Unicef officer and former Hellenic manager.

Finance Officer Matambo is Kobwa’s Director Finance. He joined the club late last year and is a Chartered accountant by profession.

Brand and Marketing Manager Simelane is currently O.K Furnitures Marketing Manager in Manzini. He is a former Black Swallows goalkeeper and has been part of the past MC members.

Operations Officer Buster Vilakati has retained his position and he has been part of all the past MCs, since 2012. He is  the longest serving member and is a police officer by profession.

Carl Thring is also police officer and has been appointed Chief security Officer.

Walfare Manager Celimphilo ‘Mandoza’ Matsebula is a Pigg’s Peak businessman.
