The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo has praised Aron’s Farms Produce for its remarkable growth and contribution to Eswatini’s economy during an official site visit to the company’s operations in Edwaleni.
The visit highlighted the success story of one of the country’s leading poultry producers, which has grown from a modest operation with just 7,500 chickens in 2000 to a thriving enterprise capable of producing 60,000 chickens.
Speaking during the visit, Minister Khumalo commended the company’s resilience, innovation and commitment to supporting the country’s economic development. He noted that Aron’s Farms Produce serves as a shining example of how local entrepreneurship can drive industrialisation, create jobs and strengthen food security.
The Minister also applauded the company’s recent investment of approximately E15-16 million in a modern poultry facility, describing it as a significant milestone that reflects confidence in Eswatini’s business environment. The state-of-the-art infrastructure incorporates advanced technology designed to improve production efficiency while maintaining high biosecurity standards, ensuring the delivery of quality poultry products to consumers.
Beyond its commercial success, Aron’s Farms Produce was recognised for its positive impact on surrounding communities. The company has created employment opportunities for emaSwati while also investing in social development through initiatives that support education, infrastructure projects, sports and other community programmes.
Minister Khumalo further welcomed the company’s ambitious plans to double its production capacity from 60,000 to 120,000 chickens. He said the planned expansion, coupled with a commitment to sustainable farming practices and mentorship for aspiring emaSwati farmers, aligns with the government’s vision of building a competitive and inclusive agricultural sector.
He reaffirmed the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses that invest, innovate and contribute to national development. According to the Minister, enterprises such as Aron’s Farms Produce play a vital role in accelerating industrialisation, generating employment and strengthening Eswatini’s economy.
The site visit underscored the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector in unlocking economic opportunities and ensuring long-term growth in the Kingdom’s agricultural and industrial sectors.
