MBABANE – Aspiring gospel singers have been handed a rare opportunity to share the stage with one of Southern Africa’s most celebrated gospel artists, Dr Tumi.

Organisers of the upcoming Dr Tumi Revival Night have announced auditions for backing vocalists, with 12 talented singers set to be selected for the highly anticipated worship event scheduled for next month.

The auditions will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Arts and Culture Offices in Manzini, starting at 8am. The venue is located opposite St Theresa Primary School and the Fitness Zone Building. Interested participants are required to register by paying an audition fee of E20.

According to organiser Linda Dlamini, the selected vocalists will form part of the choir backing Dr Tumi during his performance in Eswatini.

The opportunity is expected to attract singers from across the country eager to showcase their talent and gain experience performing alongside a renowned gospel minister.

Dr Tumi, born Tumisang Victor Makweya in Seshego, Limpopo, South Africa, has built a reputation as one of the continent’s leading gospel artists. Apart from his music career, he is also a qualified medical doctor and motivational speaker. His worship songs have touched millions of lives across Africa, earning him numerous accolades and a devoted fan base.

The revival and worship concert is scheduled for Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Mbabane Alliance Church. The event will begin at 5pm and continue into the evening, bringing together worshippers and gospel music enthusiasts for what promises to be a powerful night of praise and spiritual renewal.

Hosted by Kufeziwe Communications, the concert forms part of the organisation’s 2026 vision themed “A Year of Revival.” The event will also feature performances from several local gospel artists, including Linda Dlamini, Sphiwo Ndoni, Nothando Dlamini, Nelly Siwela and Shekinah Motsa, among others.

Tickets are currently available for E250 and can be purchased at Galito’s outlets in Manzini, Ezulwini, Matsapha and Mbabane, as well as through Smart Ticket.
