MBABANE – The inauguration of the Together & Co Pool Bar at the Hilton Garden Inn Mbabane was marked by celebration, pride and a bold declaration that Eswatini is ready to claim its place as a destination of choice on the global tourism map.

Delivering the keynote address, the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Jane Mkhonta Simelane described the occasion as “a remarkable day for Mbabane and for Eswatini,” emphasizing that the launch of the new facility represents far more than the opening of a leisure space.

“We are not simply here to open a pool bar,” the Simelane said. “We are here to celebrate what happens when vision meets investment, when ambition meets action, and when our nation’s potential is given the respect it deserves.”

The event was graced by Programme Director Xusi Tembe, the Honourable Mayor of Mbabane, Mr. Thulani Mkhonto, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Pensions Fund, Mr. Masotja Vilakati, Chairman of the Hilton Board, Mr. Sam Shongwe, alongside other distinguished guests.

Simelane noted that the development aligns with the vision of King Mswati III, iNgwenyama of Eswatini, who has called upon all sectors to fast-track service delivery and position the Kingdom as a competitive and attractive tourism destination.

“That royal call is not merely a directive,  it is a challenge,” Simelane stated. “And today, with the opening of this magnificent facility, we are answering it. Eswatini does not just dream,  Eswatini delivers.”

Describing the Together & Co Pool Bar as a statement of confidence and excellence, Simelane said the facility demonstrates that world-class experiences can thrive in the heart of Mbabane. Every detail, she added, reflects a commitment to quality that both citizens and visitors deserve.

Beyond aesthetics and hospitality, Simelane highlighted tourism’s tangible impact on livelihoods. The Hilton Garden Inn Mbabane has created employment opportunities for over one hundred Emaswati, directly supporting families and strengthening the local economy.

“That is not just business. That is nation-building,” she said.

Special recognition was extended to the Public Service Pensions Fund for its investment, which the Simelane described as funding not just infrastructure, but hope and opportunity. She also commended Christine Ndlovu and the Hilton management team for maintaining international standards while remaining rooted in the local community.

As she concluded, Simelane reaffirmed Government’s commitment to strengthening the tourism sector, noting that Eswatini’s tourism story is still unfolding.

“May the Together & Co Pool Bar thrive. May it bring people together, as its name promises, and may it stand as a lasting symbol of what we can achieve when we dare to dream big for our beautiful Kingdom,” she said.

The ceremony ended on a note of gratitude and unity, with the Minister expressing appreciation to all partners involved in making the vision a reality.
