Manzini- Emaswati diagnosed with cancer will now be able to access diagnosis and treatment closer to home following the full resumption of oncology services at OncAura Wellness Centre, located in Manzini beside Philani Clinic.
The facility announced the resumption of its cancer care services during a media engagement session this morning, where its multidisciplinary medical team outlined the scope of treatment now available, including diagnostic imaging support, radiotherapy planning, chemotherapy coordination and continuous patient monitoring.
Speaking at the briefing, one of the Directors, Mandla “Cheeks” Nxumalo said the opening of services marks a major improvement in local healthcare delivery, particularly for patients who previously had to seek treatment outside the country due to limited specialized oncology capacity.
The centre is staffed by a team of locally and internationally trained specialists, including a radiologist, radiation oncologists, and radiotherapy operations personnel, who will jointly oversee patient care from diagnosis through to treatment planning and follow-up.
Nxumalo highlighted that the facility is equipped with modern oncology systems designed to support accurate diagnosis and structured treatment delivery, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for essential medical services.
A key focus of the centre’s operations is improving access to timely and continuous care, particularly for patients requiring ongoing treatment schedules such as radiotherapy sessions, which typically demand frequent visits over several weeks.
The team also emphasized a patient-centred approach, noting that services are structured to ensure individualized treatment plans, improved patient experience, and coordinated clinical support throughout the treatment process.
With the resumption of services, OncAura Wellness Centre is positioning itself as a key contributor to strengthening specialized cancer care within Eswatini’s private healthcare sector, offering an alternative for patients seeking timely and structured oncology treatment within the country.
