Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah “wherever necessary” despite the US-Iran ceasefire. Israeli attacks on Lebanon on Wednesday were a “grave violation” of the agreement, Iran’s deputy foreign minister tells the BBC. Saeed Khatibzadeh accuses Israel of a “massacre” in Lebanon – 203 people were killed on Wednesday, according to the health ministry. Khatibzadeh also says the Strait of Hormuz will reopen if the US withdraws its “aggression” . A moment is likely to come when Washington asks Israel to refrain from further violence.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump says US forces will remain “in place” in the region until Iran fully complies with the “real” ceasefire agreement. The US and Iran announced a ceasefire late on Tuesday – but there have been conflicting reports about what Iran actually agreed
