Mbabane: Members of the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) were stationed at the entrance of the PLE AGM meeting place on Saturday.
This comes after incumbent chairman Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula is alleged to have reported certain members of the Premier League of Eswatini Board of Governors who alleged demanded the organisation’s financial statements from the auditing firm before they were presented at the Annual General Meeting.
The PLE held its AGM at Happy Valley Hotel on Saturday, but the agenda for the day was not concluded within government’s stipulated two-hour gathering time.
Henceforth, the last two items on the agenda which is presentation of audited financial statements and elections will be held next Saturday at 10am at the same venue.
Manzini Sea Birds representative London Dlamini moved a motion to have the alleged BoGs who wanted the financial statements from the accounting firm kicked out of the meeting by the assembly decided not to as the matter was already with the police.
