Mbabane – The Eswatini Electricity Company has announced planned power outages scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, 2026, as part of routine maintenance and construction works across several parts of the country.
According to a notice issued by the power utility’s Marketing and Corporate Communications department, electricity supply will be interrupted in selected areas served by the Siteki, Pigg’s Peak, Malkerns and Elangeni depots.
Under the Siteki and Pigg’s Peak depots, the areas to be affected include Sitsatsaweni, Bhandeni, Lungungu, Ekudwaleni, Mgobozi, Etingadzeni and Mshingishingini. The interruption in these areas is attributed to closing span works and will run from 10:00hrs to 16:00hrs.
In the Malkerns area, Zondwako, Kajesus, Sikanye and surrounding areas, as well as Ngonini and nearby communities, will experience outages due to routine maintenance between 09:00hrs and 16:00hrs.
Further interruptions are expected in Somnjalose and surrounding areas under the Elangeni depot. The work, described as project construction and service construction, is set to take place from 09:00hrs to 16:30hrs.
Another round of routine maintenance will affect Malandela Farm Pump, Care Bears, Hlekamandzi, Mabila Farm, Willows Lodge, Malkerns Farm T 305 MTN and surrounding areas from 09:00hrs to 16:30hrs.
The company urged residents to exercise caution during the maintenance period.
“Members of the public are to treat all electricity structures as live at all times for the duration of the planned interruptions. We apologize for the inconvenience that may be caused.”
