DUBAI — Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini reported that on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai, he held discussions with Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade. The talks focused on expanding trade and investment cooperation between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the UAE.
“Today, on the margins of the World Governments Summit in Dubai, we held a constructive engagement with Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, driving UAE’s non-oil economy, international trade partnerships and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements. We focused on deepening trade and investment cooperation between our two countries,” said Prime Minister Dlamini.
The discussions included Eswatini’s economic performance and potential investment areas such as agriculture, energy, logistics, food supply chains, and industrial development. The Prime Minister expressed particular interest in the UAE’s approach to food security, noting it “works directly with farmers, builds capacity, introduces technology, and guarantees offtake – an approach that delivers both national food security and tangible community-level impact.”
Eswatini plans to engage further to understand the UAE market and align its production with market needs. “To ensure momentum, I have tasked our Embassy in the UAE to carry this discussion forward and translate shared interest into practical outcomes,” added Prime Minister Dlamini.
During the summit, the Prime Minister also held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Vjosa Osmani, President of the Republic of Kosovo, where discussions centred on strengthening cooperation and advancing shared priorities.
