MBABANE – Rising South African musician Okwanda is set to make her debut performance in Eswatini as the headliner for Ocean Cuisine’s Confessions Party on February 28, 2026.
The singer has been steadily gaining recognition in the regional music scene with releases such as Sonini and the widely celebrated Phatha L’hatha, a collaboration with acclaimed vocalist Sir Trill. The track, blending three-step grooves with soulful emotion, has been generating attention across social media platforms.
Speaking in an interview shared on her social media, Okwanda said Phatha L’hatha was inspired by emotions of distance, longing and connection.
“I wrote this song for long-distance relationship lovers,” she said. “My person is far away too, so it came from a real place. We wanted to make something that feels good to the soul, something people can live with. It’s about creating a mood and creating a moment.”
Produced by Weirdoz265 and Bongi SA, Phatha L’hatha offers a fresh take on South Africa’s contemporary sound, combining warmth, rhythm and a groove that resonates in intimate settings and on lively dance floors.
Ocean Cuisine Project Manager Sungwe Chile confirmed the upcoming performance and expressed excitement about hosting Okwanda.
“We are very excited about this show. Okwanda will be our first South African act this year, and we believe the night will be a memorable experience for music lovers,” Chile said.
