Mbabane – Royal Eswatini Police have arrested and charged three members of the same family in connection with the murder of a 52-year-old man from Ebuka in the Ngcwembe area, under the Lobamba police jurisdiction.
Police first reported the case on Sunday 25th January 2026, stating, “Lobamba #police arrested and charged two men aged 26 and 19 years of Emvakwelitje in connection with a murder case of a 52 year old man of Ebuka, Ngcwembe area.”
According to police, the case came to light after the body of the deceased was discovered on Thursday 22nd January 2026 at about 2200 hours in his bedroom in Ngcwembe. Police said, “His body was found lying in a pool of blood and was already in a decomposed state.”
The two initial suspects were arrested on Saturday 24th January 2026 at about 1000 hours after they surrendered themselves to Lobamba police. At the time, police indicated that investigations were continuing and that the suspects were expected to appear before the magistrates court.
An update issued by police on Monday 26th January 2026 confirmed the arrest of a third suspect. Police said, “[MURDER UPDATE]: Lobamba #police have arrested and charged a 42 year old woman of Emvakwelitje as a third #suspect in this murder case. She was arrested yesterday afternoon at kaNcesi.”
Police further stated that the woman is the wife of the deceased and that her arrest brings the total number of suspects to three. “The arrest of the woman, a wife to the deceased brings the number of suspects arrested in connection to the murder of the man of Ngcwembe area to three. The two suspects arrested on Saturday are sons to the deceased,” police said.
Information gathered during preliminary investigations indicates that the deceased was attacked and killed on 17th January 2026, with his body later discovered on Thursday 22nd January. Police added that early findings suggest the incident followed a family dispute.
“The three suspects are scheduled to appear in court today,” police confirmed.
