Manzini – Thandeka Mamba (33), of Mangwaneni, Mbabane, was on Wednesday released on E87 130 bail after appearing before Manzini Principal Magistrate, David Khumalo, to answer to fraud allegations involving a proposed boat-cruise trip that never took place.
According to the charge sheet, Mamba is alleged to have collected E131 000 from 17 individuals who believed she was organising a cruise holiday on their behalf.
The trip reportedly failed to materialise, prompting the victims to approach the police.
Notably, the matter appears to be widening with additional individuals now stepping forward claiming to have had similar dealings with Mamba.
In granting bail, Khumalo ruled that E7 000 must be paid in cash, while an additional E80 130 be provided as surety.
She is expected to reappear in court on December 17, pending full compliance with the bail conditions.
