Soweto – Orlando Pirates winger Oswin Appollis has called on his teammates to stay focused and not underestimate Marumo Gallants ahead of the Carling Knockout final on Saturday at New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, with kickoff set for 6pm.
Appollis, who joined the Buccaneers from Polokwane City at the start of the season, said Marumo Gallants are a strong side and the team must match their effort to secure the trophy. Speaking at a media day at Rand Stadium on Tuesday, he credited the Pirates’ management for strengthening the squad with quality signings that have helped players improve collectively.
“There is a lot of work still to be done. With the players we have now, including Rele Mofokeng, Spola Mbule, and Tshepang Moremi, it has helped new players like me adapt and grow,” Appollis said.
He also revealed that Sipho Mbule played a key role in facilitating his move to Pirates from Polokwane City, maintaining contact to ensure a smooth transition and offering guidance along the way.
