Big Bend – Ubombo Sugar Football Club has announced a major restructuring of its technical department, headlined by the appointment of Mxolisi Milton Dlamini as the new head coach.
The club confirmed the changes in an official statement released in Big Bend yesterday, describing the move as a long-term strategy to restore the club’s competitiveness in the elite league.
Dlamini, who brings extensive experience from top-flight environments in South Africa and Eswatini, officially took charge on 02 December 2025 and will lead the team in Friday’s fixture against Manzini Sea Birds at Mhlume Stadium. He arrives with a clear vision centred on an attacking style of play and strong player development, which the club says aligns with its refreshed footballing strategy.
According to the statement, Dlamini stood out among several candidates due to his cohesive plan to drive the team forward. His coaching background includes stints at Maritzburg United FC, Platinum Stars FC, Thanda Royal Zulu FC, Baroka FC, Mbombela United FC and Manzini Sundowns, as well as work within the Castle Superstars programme in South Africa.
He will be assisted by Percy Shongwe. The interim technical team led by Vanrooyen Magagula has been relieved of its duties, with management extending appreciation for their service during a difficult period.
In addition to the head coach appointment, the club has named Dennis Yuki Masina as youth development coach and chief scout. Masina, recently awarded the Pitso Mosimane Youth Foundation Veterans Award, brings elite European and South African experience, and is expected to strengthen the club’s long-term developmental structures.
Management urged supporters to remain patient as the new technical team works to revive former glory and re-establish Mayaluka Stadium as a formidable home ground. They also acknowledged fan concerns and pledged continued transparency and stability. With the January 2026 transfer window approaching, the club believes the timing of these appointments will allow for a proper assessment of the squad as Ubombo Sugar seeks to assemble a stronger, more competitive team.
The club concluded by expressing optimism about the new era under Dlamini’s leadership, affirming: “Together, we shall rise.”
