Nhlangano – Nsingizini Hotspurs FC have climbed to the summit of the MTN Premier League of Eswatini after edging Manzini Sea Birds 1,0 in a tightly contested encounter that marked a shift in the early title race. The victory lifts Nsingizini to 18 points from eight matches, overtaking Sea Birds who had occupied the top spot for several weeks.

The match was decided by a brilliant 76th minute strike from captain Neliswa ‘Tiger’ Dlamini, whose composed finish sealed the crucial three points. The goal capped a performance in which Nsingizini showed superior tactical discipline, combining coordinated attacking play with a resolute defensive structure that frustrated the previously in-form Sea Birds.

Despite creating several promising chances, Sea Birds were unable to break through Nsingizini’s organised backline. Their attempts on goal were repeatedly denied, while Nsingizini’s forwards remained sharp on the counter, threatening to extend their lead.

Adding to the significance of the victory was the return of Bongiswa ‘Phumba’ Dlamini, who made his first appearance since January following a lengthy injury layoff. His comeback added stability and creativity in midfield, showcasing his trademark vision and passing accuracy. His influence was evident throughout the match, providing balance and confidence to the team as they pushed for the winning goal.
