Mbabane – Moneni Pirates Football Club supporters have voiced a clear message following the recent media briefing about the coach’s departure, ‘bring back former coach Caleb Ngwenya.’
Social media reactions and fan comments show overwhelming support for Ngwenya, with many insisting he is the coach who can restore the team’s winning momentum.
Ngwenya’s resignition from the same club was annouced five months ago. Moneni Pirates with Ngwenya achieved a memorable Ingwenyama Cup Finals run, and finishing at 5th place in the MTN Premier League, collecting 41 points. Ngwenya joined Moneni Pirates in January 2025, bringing much-needed stability to the team. In the last season he was with Mbabane Swallows
He has also been with the team since January 2005 when they parted ways with Moneni Pirates.
One fan pleaded, “Can they please ask former coach Caleb Ngwenya to come back to Moneni Pirates?” Other supporters welcomed the coaching shake-up, arguing that the outgoing coaches had failed to deliver significant improvements.
“It’s a good thing these two are leaving because we haven’t seen any progress ever since they came,” wrote one fan, while another added, “We wish we can find someone else who can help the team win and get good results.”
Ngwenya, who previously led Moneni Pirates to notable successes, remains a popular figure among fans who believe his return could reinvigorate the squad ahead of the crucial stages of the season.
The club has not yet commented on whether they will approach Ngwenya, but confirmed that applications for the coaching position are now open.
