Matsapha – The National Commissioner of Police has commended the Tibondzeni community for their support in the recent arrest of Michael Hlatshwako, a suspect in the brutal murder of an eight-year-old girl.
Hlatshwako was apprehended on November 18, 2025, at 6:30 AM, after a tip-off from a concerned resident led to his arrest. The suspect is accused of the murder of Tifezile, an eight-year-old girl from Siguduma. The girl had been reported missing earlier that week, and her body was discovered in a gruesome crime.
Speaking at a press conference at the Police Headquarters, the Commissioner expressed his gratitude for the bravery of the citizen who shared crucial information, which ultimately led to the suspect’s capture. He also praised the diligent work of the police officers, investigators, and other personnel who were involved in the operation, noting that their collective efforts were critical in bringing the case closer to resolution.
The Commissioner reaffirmed a reward policy announced earlier in July 2025, confirming that the informant who provided the vital information would receive the reward according to the procedures set by the Royal Eswatini Police.
