MBABANE – The National Gospel Music Awards will return on Saturday, November 29, transforming the Luke Commission Auditorium in Sidvokodvo into a stage for Eswatini’s leading gospel talent. The annual event celebrates the country’s thriving gospel music industry and recognises top performers while promoting local creative talent.
Festivities will begin with a Grand Entrance at 4:00 PM featuring a red carpet experience. The Gospel Power Hour is scheduled from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, leading into the main ceremony which goes live at 8:00 PM. The evening will gather prominent figures from the gospel industry, including celebrities, influencers, and all nominated artists. Twenty-seven awards will be presented across multiple categories, accompanied by five Honorary Awards including the Minister’s Award, the Chairperson’s Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Regional visibility will be strengthened through partnerships with South African gospel media platforms such as One Gospel and Soweto TV, along with extensive support from local broadcasters. Tickets are already available on Moja Ticket and the organisers are urging the public to prepare for the event.
The awards will also promote inclusivity in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. The top three winners of the Disability Festival, Sabelo, Msweli, and Siya Baya, will perform during the ceremony. Organisers promise a grand stage, a spectacular show, and a platform to showcase Eswatini gospel music to a wider audience.
Mr. Nathi Makhabane, spokesperson for the Awards, encouraged the public to budget for the event and get ready for a night of praise and celebration. Mr. Stanley Dlamini, CEO of the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture, said the event fulfills the Council’s mandate to promote all creative disciplines and provide them with a platform. Mr. Nathi Mhlanga, Chairperson of the Awards, assured attendees that no detail will be spared in presenting Eswatini gospel music on a larger scale.
