Tourism minister visits Eswatini Embassy in Riyadh

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Honourable Jane Mkhonta Simelane, led a delegation to the Eswatini Embassy in Riyadh on Tuesday, 11 November 2025. The group included the Chairperson of the Parliament Tourism and Environmental Affairs Portfolio Committee, Honourable Welcome Dlamini, Eswatini Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Vusie Norman Dlamini, and Senior Tourism Officer, Ms. Samukelisiwe Dlamini.

During the visit, the Minister discussed the importance of strengthening ties with foreign missions to promote Eswatini as a tourist destination. She noted that the establishment of Eswatini’s mission in Saudi Arabia offers an opportunity to position the Middle East as a key market for tourism growth.

Mr. Vusie Dlamini, ETA CEO, shared that he had engaged with leading travel and tourism media outlets in the Middle East to showcase Eswatini’s attractions. He stressed the need for ongoing collaboration with the embassy to expand these promotional initiatives.

The Chancellor of the Eswatini Embassy in Saudi Arabia, Mr. Phathizwe Malambe, welcomed the delegation and noted that tourism promotion and sector investment hold significant potential, building on the strong diplomatic ties between Eswatini and Saudi Arabia.
