Bujumbura, Burundi – The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association is taking part in the 3rd Gender Equality Forum in Bujumbura, Burundi, from November 11 to 12, 2025.
Organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, the forum runs under the theme “Gender Equality in African Sport: Unlocking Potential, Accompanying Generations.” It brings together leaders, policymakers, and gender advocates from across Africa to develop strategies that promote inclusion, empowerment, and fairness in sport.
Eswatini is represented by EOCGA President Adam Mthethwa and Gender Commission member Clement Dlamini. They are participating in discussions on advancing gender mainstreaming within the Olympic Movement in Africa, reflecting the country’s commitment to gender balance in leadership, athlete development, and sports participation.
The forum allows attendees to share best practices and accelerate the implementation of ANOCA’s Gender Equality and Diversity Strategy. EOCGA is also preparing to host its own Gender Equality in Sport Forum on November 15, 2025, at Esibayeni Lodge in Matsapha, continuing efforts to promote equity and inclusive representation in local sports.
