Mbabane – The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has received two universally designed vehicles from the Republic of China (Taiwan), valued at E1.9 million. The donation aims to improve mobility for persons with disabilities across the country.
The handover took place in Mbabane, with Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla receiving the vehicles from Taiwan Ambassador Jeremy Liang. Liang noted Taiwan’s ongoing commitment to Eswatini, particularly in health, human rights, and social development. He referenced projects such as the renovation of the Mbabane Government Hospital referral complex as part of Taiwan’s broader support for vulnerable communities.

Deputy Prime Minister Dladla thanked Taiwan for the contribution, describing the vehicles as vital for enhancing access to services and supporting the dignity of Eswatini’s most vulnerable citizens. She also recalled Taiwan’s previous support for the Asibambisane Sibe Ngumndeni family reunification program, which helped restore families torn apart by hardship.
The DPM further acknowledged Taiwan’s assistance in providing decent shelter for vulnerable citizens and funding the construction of a boys’ hostel at St. Joseph’s Mission School, reinforcing the strong bilateral partnership between the two nations.
