Nokwane – His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) joined the rest of the nation in honouring the men who lost their lives during World War II at a solemn Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force headquarters in Nokwane.
The event served as an important reminder of the bravery and sacrifices of those who fought for peace, freedom, and stability values that continue to shape Eswatini’s identity and guide its people.
Representing the department, HMCS Commissioner General LaMakhosini Phindile Dlamini laid a wreath on behalf of HMCS in tribute to the fallen heroes. Her participation underscored the department’s ongoing recognition of the courage and dedication shown by those who served.
Speaking after the ceremony, Dlamini highlighted that remembrance is not only an act of honour but also a source of inspiration for present and future generations. She encouraged officers to continue upholding the principles of service, discipline, and sacrifice exemplified by the wartime heroes.
The ceremony brought together members of the security forces, government officials, and members of the public, all united in reflection and gratitude for the resilience and patriotism demonstrated during the war.
