COVID-19: Eswatini records 45 new cases, 20 recoveries

Mbabane: The total number of confirmed cases in Eswatini has increased to 954 as 45 new cases confirmed on Saturday.

A Ministerial statement issued by Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi reveales that 405 results were received and 45 tested positive.

Nkosi we to on to announce that 20 patients have been cleared of COVID-19 hence the total number of recoveries now stands at 535.

Manzini remains the epicenter of the pandemic in the country as 517 of the total number cases comes from the region. Hhohho region comes second with 246 cases, followed by Lubombo region with 97 cases and lastly Shiselweni has recorded 94 cases in total up to date.

Nkosi emphasized on regular checkup more especially to senior citizens and people with pre-existing illnesses. Nkosi said people with pre-existing illnesses should always adhere to their medication.

Minister Nkosi encouraged the public to continue adhering to all health precautionary measures given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization and this include regular washing of hands with running water and soap, practicing social distancing and wearing masks whenever one is going out.
