Mphofu – As part of its ongoing nationwide anti-narcotics campaign, Operation Thunder, the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) has raided and destroyed seven hectares of dagga fields along the Mphofu River in the Hhohho region.
The operation, led by the Hhohho anti-narcotics unit, also resulted in the destruction of 24 bags of dagga that were found in the surrounding area. This latest exercise forms part of REPS’s intensified crackdown on illicit substances and drug trafficking across the country.
The polcie say the operation is a coordinated national initiative aimed at eradicating drug cultivation, supply, and distribution networks. The campaign has seen several similar raids conducted in other regions, targeting both large-scale plantations and smaller distribution points.
REPS reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, emphasizing that efforts to eliminate drug-related activities will continue without compromise. The police urged members of the public to support the ongoing campaign by reporting any suspected drug operations within their communities.
