Lagos, Nigeria – Honourable Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, led a delegation from the ministry’s portfolio committee on a benchmarking visit to Nigeria last week, touring key manufacturing facilities to gather insights for local industry development.
The delegation visited Hypo Homecare Products, a major manufacturer of bleach and household cleaning products, where they observed large-scale production processes and an innovative distribution network supplying millions of Nigerian homes. Officials said the visit offered lessons on scaling production while maintaining product quality and affordability.

The team also toured Lush Hair, owned by Kellogg Tolaram, which produces a range of hair extensions and beauty products for the African market. Lush Hair operates a factory in Ngwenya, Eswatini, employing over 700 local workers, and is a well-known brand across the country.

Minister Khumalo and his team indicated that the visit will inform strategies to expand Eswatini’s manufacturing sector and improve competitiveness in regional and international markets.
