MBABANE – The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) today presented the International Trade Centre (ITC) with the Trade Support Initiative of the Year award during a ceremony held in Mbabane.
The award, part of the Eswatini National Exporter Awards (ENEXA) hosted in September 2025, recognised ITC’s contribution to promoting trade development in the country. ITC had been unable to collect the accolade on the awards day.
EIPA Chief Executive Officer Sibani Mngomezulu presented the award to the European Union Ambassador to Eswatini, Karsten Mecklenburg, who received it on behalf of ITC.
During the same event, EIPA officials specialising in trade promotion received certificates after completing ITC’s Training the Trainer programme. The initiative, supported by the European Union, equipped participants with knowledge of ITC Trade Tools to help train local businesses interested in export markets and global trade intelligence.
Participants included representatives from the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP), the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), various government departments, and private consultants.
Mngomezulu said the partnership between EIPA and ITC continues to strengthen Eswatini’s export capacity by empowering professionals who can guide local enterprises in accessing international markets.
