Mbabane – Officials from Eswatini and Lesotho gathered in Eswatini from October 21-22, 2025, for a Capacity Building Workshop on Quality Assurance in Higher Education, hosted by UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa (ROSA) in partnership with the Eswatini Higher Education Council and Lesotho’s Council on Higher Education.
The workshop aimed to advance academic standards, digital readiness, and regional cooperation between the two countries. It forms part of a broader Southern African Development Community effort to strengthen quality assurance systems across the region, following similar workshops in Zimbabwe in 2024 and Zambia in 2025.
Participants focused on building the skills of quality assurance staff and stakeholders to foster continuous improvement and ensure higher education institutions meet regional and international benchmarks.
