Matsapha – During the Fire Day celebrations held at the Matsapha International Airport, His Majesty King Mswati III promoted six senior ENFES officers,
From Senior Station Officer to Senior Division Officer, His Majesty promoted Aron Tsabedze and Robison Manana. Albert Fakudze and Samson Maseko were promoted to the position of Divisional Officer, while Dennis Khumalo was elevated to the position of Deputy Chief Fire Officer.
The announcement was made at the Eswatini National Fire and Emergency Services (ENFES) during the fire day, His Majesty officially appointed Luke Lushaba as the Chief Fire Officer.
The king also called for proper structure in the force to improve efficiency.
His Majesty revealed that the service currently has only 600 officers, which makes it difficult for them to reach every corner of the country. He said this limited capacity means the service is only able to cover about 35 percent of the nation. The King therefore called for consultations to find ways of improving service delivery and ensuring that all citizens are adequately served.
The king also emphasized the importance of ensuring the welfare of officers. He charged Luke Lushaba to make sure that fire officers are well looked after so that they can continue performing at their optimum best.
ENFES. Although Lushaba had been serving in that capacity, he had not previously been officially blessed by His Majesty in front of the nation, as is customary with other heads of security forces.
His Majesty further announced that other promotions will follow in due course, as a group of female firefighters are currently in training. He said he will wait for them to complete their training, emphasizing his desire for the service to be balanced in terms of gender representation in leadership roles.
