Matsapha – The Eswatini National Fire and Emergency Services (ENFES) has donated E60 000 to the Philani Maswati Charity Organisation, which Her Majesty the Indlovukazi is the patron of.
In addition to the monetary donation, the service also presented five cows to Their Majesties, three for His Majesty King Mswati III and two for Her Majesty the Queen Mother.
The announcement of the gifts from the service was made by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Appollo Maphalala, who is the line minister of the service.
His Majesty King Mswati III received the gifts with gratitude and expressed appreciation to the service for their thoughtfulness. He said it was heartwarming to note that the Eswatini National Fire and Emergency Services thought of the elderly when making the donation.
The King further highlighted that the elderly are the pillar of society, noting that the gifts will go a long way in supporting their needs and welfare.
The gifts were handed over to their Majesties during the second fire day celebrations, which coincided with 50 anniversary for the service.
