Johannesburg – Grammy-winning DJ and producer Nkosinathi “Black Coffee” Maphumulo has once again proven that his success extends far beyond the DJ booth. The internationally acclaimed artist has reportedly purchased one of South Africa’s most exclusive properties — a R157 million mansion located in Cape Town’s ultra-luxurious Clifton suburb.

According to News24, the home, famously known as The Pentagon, sits on 5 Nettleton Road, widely regarded as the most expensive street in South Africa. The transaction, completed through Black Coffee’s company, Little Ark Holdings, is said to be the country’s highest residential property sale this year, surpassing previous records.
Originally listed for R160 million, the mansion was purchased for R157 million, a testament to both its prestige and the DJ’s growing business empire.
Designed by award-winning architect Stefan Antoni, The Pentagon spans approximately 940 square meters and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The architectural masterpiece includes five en-suite bedrooms, a cinema room, a fully equipped gym, and a 16-meter heated infinity pool that overlooks the ocean. Additional features include a glass elevator, staff quarters, and multiple parking bays.
The purchase comes shortly after the finalization of Black Coffee’s divorce from actress and businesswoman Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa, sparking social media conversations about the timing and symbolism of the acquisition.

Despite the speculation, the move cements Black Coffee’s status not only as one of Africa’s most successful musicians but also as a savvy investor with an eye for luxury real estate.
With this latest acquisition, Black Coffee continues to set benchmarks both musically and financially proving that his influence resonates far beyond the global dance floors he dominates
