MBABANE – Five local stars are set to represent Eswatini at one of South Africa’s biggest lifestyle and music celebrations, the Phakama Mpumalanga Festival 2025, returning for its third edition this September.

Scheduled for 01–02 September 2025at 116 Montana Gardens, Ngwenya Estate, White River in Mpumalanga, the festival will feature a vibrant mix of music, fashion, art, and culture — and for the first time, a camping experience under the Mpumalanga skies.

The Eswatini acts confirmed for the festival include DJ Cybos (Sibongiseni Lukhele), DJ Tibza (Tubuko Nkumalo), Sbu The Drum DJ (Sibusiso Dlamini), DJ Zulu and Young Zesh (Mzwandile Comfort Ginindza), who recently won the NACA 2024 Outstanding Afro Pop Artist award.

They will perform alongside a star-studded South African lineup that features Morda,Oscar Mbo,Lwa Ndlunkulu,Mbuso Khoza,Fistaz Mixwell, Phumla Music,Jabulile MajolaShakes & Les, Mpo Les, DJ Benny from Mozambique, and many others.

Festival co-founder and organisers describe Phakama as the Coachella of Mpumalanga,” a platform that celebrates African creativity, heritage, and cultural tourism through music, fine art, sculpting, workshops, and an entrepreneurial marketplace.

Among the headliners, Mbuso Khoza is expected to deliver a moving performance rooted in traditional Zulu storytelling, while Fistaz Mixwell, a veteran of South African house music, will bring his signature energy to the decks. Phumla Music, Mpumalanga’s own multi-award-winning star, will mark her triumphant homecoming with a soulful set.

This year’s edition promises a unique blend of music, art, and lifestyle, with organisers confirming that more acts and experiences will be announced in the coming weeks.
