MBABANE – The Ministry of Education and Training has officially granted teachers the permission to attend the 2025 Teachers’ Day organised by the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) on October 24, 2025.
In a statement issued by the ministry, schools have been notified that teachers are allowed to attend the annual celebration, provided the ongoing academic programmes, particularly examinations and other scheduled school activities, are not disrupted.
The directive clarifies that teachers directly involved in examinations or other official school duties are required to remain available to ensure the smooth running of schools.
“On this day, teachers are allowed to attend, but ongoing school programmes like examinations need not be disturbed. This implies that teachers involved in such programmes, as organized by the school or the ministry, must be available to perform them,” the statement read.
The ministry further appealed to school administrations to facilitate the participation of teachers not engaged in critical duties, stating that the day serves as an important occasion to celebrate and appreciate educators for their dedication and contribution to the nation’s education system.
“Please do allow concerned teachers to attend the event,” the statement concluded.
These celebrations have over the years proven to have become one of the most anticipated events in the education calendar where the hard work, resilience, and impact of teachers across Eswatini is celebrated.
Organisers say this year’s celebrations are expected to draw educators from all four regions, with various activities lined up to honour their service and commitment.
