Dar es Salaam – The Kingdom of Eswatini is sending a team of observers to monitor the upcoming General Elections in the United Republic of Tanzania on 29 October 2025. The announcement came from the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development.
Thobile Dlamini, Director of the SADC Unit in Eswatini, is among the country’s delegation taking part in the SADC Electoral Observation Mission. Eswatini, as the incoming Chair of the SADC Organ, is supporting Malawi in leading the mission.
The SADC Electoral Observation Mission comprises 80 personnel from ten member states, including Eswatini, Lesotho, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Observers will be deployed across 27 regions in Tanzania to monitor all phases of the electoral process, from campaigns to voting and ballot counting.
Eswatini’s delegation includes senior officials from the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Elections and Boundaries Commission.
