Mbabane – World Vision Eswatini has met with the British High Commissioner to explore areas of collaboration in advancing national development and improving the welfare of vulnerable communities across the country.
The meeting, held between World Vision Eswatini’s National Director, Amos William Zaindi, and British High Commissioner, His Excellency Colin Wells, focused on strategic cooperation aligned with the organisation’s five-year priorities.
Discussions centred on key development areas such as Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Livelihoods, Health, Child Protection, Humanitarian Emergency Affairs, and Refugee Assistance—initiatives aimed at ensuring children live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
World Vision shared insights from its 33-year presence in Eswatini, marked by strong partnerships with donors, government institutions, and local communities. Both parties exchanged views on how collaboration can accelerate sustainable development and address persistent socio-economic challenges affecting children and families.
The talks also reflected on government-led efforts to decentralize services and create jobs for women and youth, particularly in rural communities. The approach is intended to allow parents, especially mothers, to work closer to home so that children can receive proper care and emotional support.
World Vision reaffirmed its commitment to complement these national priorities through inclusive community-based livelihood and skills development programmes.
Zaindi was accompanied by the organisation’s Operations Director, Ms. Sakhile Dlamini.
