MBABANE — The Eswatini National Netball Association (ENNA) has taken a groundbreaking step by integrating the women’s national teams into the country’s top-tier leagues to enhance their performance ahead of upcoming international competitions.
The senior women’s national team will compete as an invitational side in the Men’s SBS Elite League, while the under-20 women’s team will play in the SBS Women’s Elite League. The senior team is expected to make its debut this Saturday against Phoenix at Olympafrica, with kickoff at 2 p.m.
ENNA said the move seeks to improve the teams’ competitiveness, speed, and tactical play as they prepare for major tournaments such as the Africa World Cup Qualifiers in 2026 and the Netball World Cup in 2027. The under-20 side is also gearing up for the Region 5 Games scheduled for Mozambique in 2026 and South Africa in 2028.
The association said the integration will expose players to faster and more physically demanding matches, which are expected to sharpen their skills and readiness for global competition. ENNA also called on fans to support the teams as they begin this new chapter in Eswatini netball.
