MBABANE – The long-awaited Limkokwing University of Creative Technology graduation ceremony has been postponed to November 12, 2025, stirring mixed reactions among students and their families.
The university had originally scheduled the ceremony earlier this month, but an announcement this week on internal channels and social media revealed the new date. Lucky Mathonsi, Communications Manager at LUCT, said the change was made to give graduates enough time to prepare. “Some of our graduates pursuing degree and associate degree programs are now employed full-time. The shift allows them sufficient time to request permission from their employers to attend the ceremony,” Mathonsi explained.
A total of 1,012 students are expected to graduate, many of whom have already secured employment following their internships.
The postponement sparked varied reactions online. Some students voiced frustration, citing financial and travel inconveniences. One student on Facebook said, “Some of us had already made arrangements for gowns and accommodation. This delay really affects our plans.” Others echoed the sentiment, adding that prior payments for travel and events would have to be canceled.
However, some graduates expressed understanding. “As long as we get the ceremony we deserve, we can wait a few more weeks,” commented one student on social media, noting the university might be working to ensure a well-organized event.
