Maputo – President Daniel Chapo has officially opened the National Conference on Combating Corruption, calling it a crucial platform for reflection and action against one of the country’s most pressing challenges.
Speaking at the event, President Chapo said the government remains committed to preventing and fighting corruption, promoting good governance, and strengthening the democratic rule of law, which he described as essential for sustainable development.
He added that the government aims to build a transparent and responsible state that prioritises citizens in decision-making and manages public resources with accountability and ethics.
President Chapo warned that corruption undermines trust in institutions and threatens the future of Mozambique’s youth, calling the fight against it a shared patriotic duty.
