Mbabane – The Ministry of Health has strengthened Eswatini’s emergency medical response by procuring eight new ambulances worth over E8.8 million.
The ambulances were handed over to health facilities on Friday by the Ministry’s Under Secretary for Administration, Reverend Anthony Masilela. The initiative forms part of government’s continued efforts to improve emergency care delivery across the country’s hospitals and clinics.
The vehicles have been distributed to Mkhuzweni Health Centre, Dvokolwako Health Centre, Mankayane Hospital, Pigg’s Peak Hospital, Manzini Hospital, Mbabane Government Hospital, Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital and Manzana Clinic.
Some of the facilities now have two ambulances, having received additional ones earlier this year. The Ministry said the new fleet will help speed up patient transfers between facilities and improve access to emergency medical services, particularly in critical cases.
