Mbabane – Samsung has brought its latest budget smartphone, the Galaxy A17, to the Kingdom of Eswatini, offering the device at a starting price of R3,999 as part of its effort to reach more consumers seeking affordable technology.
The handset arrives in a market where many low-cost brands are already available, but some lack local support and after-sales services. Samsung is positioning the Galaxy A17 as a dependable alternative for Swati consumers who want the assurance of a trusted global brand at an affordable price.
As part of its rollout, Samsung is offering buyers a year of free access to Samsung SOS+, a private emergency response service available 24 hours a day, designed to give customers added peace of mind. The company said the device is intended for people balancing business, family and personal responsibilities while on the move.
Justin Hume, Samsung South Africa’s Vice President of Mobile Experience, said the Galaxy A17 blends “innovation, security, reliability and value.”
The device features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, a 50MP OIS triple camera, 128GB internal storage, 4+4GB RAM and a 5,000mAh battery. It is available in black and blue colour options.
