Mbabane – The Eswatini Standards Authority (SWASA) has invited local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to apply for the Ingelo Certification Scheme, a government-backed programme designed to help businesses improve product quality and meet market standards.
Applications are open until 30 September 2025, with forms available on the SWASA website or at the organisation’s offices in Matsapha Industrial Site. Completed forms can be submitted online or delivered by hand.
The Ingelo Certification Scheme was introduced by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade to assist small producers, including cottage industries, in obtaining certification for their products and systems. According to SWASA, the scheme will enable businesses to comply with quality and safety standards required in both local and regional markets, including opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Producers who take part will benefit from technical support during the certification process, the use of the “SWASA Approved” mark, improved product safety and increased access to new markets.
The call is open to all emaSwati MSMEs engaged in production or service provision, particularly those willing to expand capacity to meet export demands.
